Austin City Limits, Texas

After a few days in New York and finally arriving back in New Mexico, we left with parts of Kat´s Family - her mom and sister came - for a road trip to Austin, Texas to visit the big Austin City Limits Music Ferstival. On the way we passed through San Antonio and visited the Alamo, a historic site where the Americans faught the Mexicans in the American-Spanish war.In Austin we stayed all together in a hotel room, enjoyed the spa every morning and night, and saw lot of good bands during three very long and tyring days and nights: Mano Chao (just in front of the stage, as Kat's sister Anna was on crutches and we got in the handicapped area !!) Beck, Jose Gonzales, Xavier Rudd, David Byrne, Gnarls Barkley ... and many more

Nachdem wir ein paar Tage bei Kat's Mutter in New Mexico waren, sind wir mit ihr und mit Kat's Schwester nach Austin, Texas gefahren um ein riesen Open Air zu besuchen (ca. 80.000 Besucher!!).

12 Stunden Fahrt durch die Wueste, alles platt und buschig, schnurgerade Strassen mit wenig Verkehr. So wie man sich Route 66 vorstellt...

In Austin haben wir alle 4 in einem Hotelzimmer geschlafen, da das Festival in einem grossen Park mitten in der Stadt war und es deshalb kein Camping dort gab.

Viele tolle Bands haben wir gesehen: Beck, Manu Chao, Jose Gonzales, Xavier Rudd, die Foo Fighters ....
